Al Hooks Produce is a local growers' cooperative based in Shorter, Alabama, formed by Al Hooks along with his son and several other area farmers. The group pools produce from its member growers, primarily peas, cabbage, and greens such as collards and turnip greens. Through the Alabama Small Farm Rural Economic Development Center at Tuskegee University, the cooperative began supplying its peas and greens to Walmart.
