Double M Farms and McDowell Hunting Preserve is a family farm in Walnut Grove that has operated since 1947, growing mainly Bartlett pears along with alfalfa, field corn, and wheat. Visitors can shop a roadside fruit stand offering pears, peaches, apricots, plums, nectarines, lemons, oranges, pomegranates, white sweet corn, and free-range eggs, and pick their own pears in July. The property also runs an upland gamebird hunting preserve for pheasant, chukar, and quail with guided hunts, dog training, bird processing, and sporting clays.
