Captain John's Lamb (Captain John S. Pope Farm) is a multi-generation family farm in the hills of Orange County, about 20 miles north of Chapel Hill, raising grass-fed, free-range Dorper lambs with no added hormones or antibiotics. The flock of roughly 400 Dorper-cross sheep is guarded by llamas and Akbash-Maremma dogs. The farm supplies USDA-inspected, NCDA-licensed lamb to area restaurants and hosts meals and events at the historic family farm.
