Long Branch Environmental Education Center

Long Branch Environmental Education Center is an ecological sanctuary and land trust in the Newfound Mountains near Asheville, established in 1974 to teach sustainable living, renewable energy, and natural resource conservation. Visitors can pick berries (raspberries, wine berries, blackberries, blueberries), chestnuts, and apples in season, hike the trails, go birding, picnic, and stay overnight. The center also hosts workshops, events, and volunteering opportunities.
